1 box German Chocolate Cake mix
1 ½ sticks melted butter
1/3 cup evaporated milk
Combine the above and put half of mixture in a greased 13 x 9" pan. Bake for 6 minutes at 350 degrees.
In a double boiler, melt 14 oz caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Stir constantly.
Put 6 oz chocolate chips on top of cooked mixture. Next sprinkle 1 cup of pecan pieces. Next caramel mixture.
Spoon remaining cake mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes.
Keep refrigerated for best results.
