Olive Garden Restaurants around the country are giving back to the community.
The restaurant served up an Italian meal to men and women who serve the community in part of their "Hospitaliano" lunch.
More than 740 Olive Garden restaurants nationwide provided lunch to hundreds of local fire stations, police departments and hospital emergency rooms across the country.
Employees of the local Olive Garden in Macon brought some Italian favorites to the local paramedic office. The feast included lasagna, spaghetti with marinara, their signature salad and breadsticks, as well as their signature dessert, tiramisu.
"Being a family-oriented restaurant, you have to reach out to the community and kind of thank the community in ways that will allow them to continue to come back and patronize us," manager Loyd Harrison said.
Harrison and other employees say the complimentary lunch is to honor the men and women who serve the community each day.
"They go to work everyday and put their lives on the line for us to protect us, to serve us so this is a little token of our appreciation," said Debra Upshaw.
This is the 10th year that Olive Garden has celebrated delivering Hospitaliano lunches on Labor Day in the local communities.
