Andy Griffith Buried 5 Hours After Death

CNN is reporting that actor Andy Griffith was buried less than 5 hours after he died.  Griffith who is best known for his role as Sheriff Andy Taylor died around 7 a.m. Tuesday at his home on Roanoke Island, North Carolina. 

A funeral spokesperson says the actor was buried at the request of his family around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.   The spokesperson also said that the burial had been planned for some time.

Griffith was a member of the Television Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame and Musuem.
