Summer vacation is right around the corner. Kids are excited to take the weight of school off, but teachers say they are also.
"I'm going to go to the beach and play volleyball. Because I love volleyball" says third grade teacher Lisa Ogide
Ogide already has her summer booked with physical activities while other teachers say they have things less physical in mind.
"I plan on staying in my pajamas all day long" says Misty Sparks.
After 9 months of teaching, Sparks enjoys staying relaxed and comfortable during the summer.
But teachers like Sharon Wheeless say they enjoy coming back to their classrooms in anticipation of the next year.
"Planning on spending a few days here at the school just organizing my classroom" says Wheeless.
She also plans on visiting family and friends during the two months off.
Meanwhile, Teacher of the Year Sandy Watson has a structured agenda of summer to-do's. Instead of teaching at the school, Watson will be teaching music outside of classroom walls.
"Doing a choir tour. A music camp for the city. Doing some things for the library. Going to clean my house. Do a little gardening" says Watson.
But one thing every teacher says they'll do is think about their class.
"I love listening to them sing and laugh. So I'll miss the children," says Watson
