8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 large loaf French bread, thinly sliced
1 cup half-and-half
4 eggs, beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup clarified butter
1 pound fresh strawberries
3/4 cup strawberry jam
1/4 cup orange marmalade
Filling: Blend cream cheese, ricotta, and sugar until smooth.
French Toast: Spread filling on half the number of bread slices. Top with remaining slices and press together. Arrange in single layer in a shallow pan. Whisk half-and-half and next five ingredients. Pour over stuffed bread. Soak briefly on both sides.
Fry slices in clarified butter until golden brown, turning once. Transfer to warm serving platter. Cover. Repeat with remaining stuffed French Toast.
Strawberries: Garnish each serving with strawberries and their syrup. Serves 6-8.
