NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) -- The Defense Department says an Air Force officer from Georgia is among four people killed in the crash of military plane in Djibouti, Africa.
The military said Monday that 29-year-old Capt. Nicholas S. Whitlock of Newnan, Ga. was killed Saturday when the U-28 aircraft crashed.
Whitlock was assigned to the 319th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla.
A woman who answered the phone at the home of Whitlock's parents in Newnan declined comment.
Also killed were 30-year-old Capt. Ryan P. Hall of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 26-year-old 1st Lt. Justin J. Wilkens of Bend, Ore.; and 26-year-old Senior Airman Julian S. Scholten of Upper Marlboro, Md.
