BJ Survant was born in Saginaw, Michigan on July 29, 1961. He attended Valdosta State College where he received a bachelor’s degree in 1983 and was a member of Alpha Lamda Delta and Sigma Alpha Chi honor societies. 

In 1986, Mr. Survant received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University where he was a member of the Mercer Law Review and served on the Managing Editorial Staff from 1984 to 1986. 

He co-authored “United States v. Leon: The Long-Awaited Good Faith Exception Has Finally Arrived”, 36 Mercer Law Review 757, (1985). Mr. Survant was a Merit Scholar from 1984 through 1986.

Mr. Survant is a member of the Macon and American Bar Associations and the State Bar of Georgia, as well as the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Middle Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, and American Association for Justice.
