Amped Up: Chad Sexton loses 40 pounds in 8 months

At 41 years old, Chad Sexton hasn't always been the gym rat he claims to be today. He makes it a routine to work out at the gym at least 4 days a week because he doesn't want to go back to the life he used to live.

"Around October, I came in to the gym after going to the doctor because I had a bad appointment," Sexton says. "Cholesterol was bad, blood pressure was bad, all of it was bad."

It's only been about 8 months since Chad started his journey, but he's already seeing some major results after changing from his unhealthy lifestyle.

"My diet was the bad part. I pulled through Burger King, McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, it was always fast food always on the go. About 4 months into my journey, I went back to the doctor and everything was perfect. No medicine, everything was perfect," explains Sexton.

The Albany native is down 41 pounds over the past month and plans to stay the course.

"My ultimate goal is I want to be in the best shape of my life. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there," says Sexton. "If I can do it, anybody can do it. It's just diet and exercise, and you have to get out of the house and get moving."
