'I'll love old Georgia until I'm gone,' 105-year old fan on UGA

Ticket prices for the SEC championship game are pretty extravagant, but one devout Bulldogs fan says she has a ticket that's priceless.

Ticket prices for the SEC championship game are pretty extravagant, but one devout Bulldogs fan says she has a ticket that's priceless.

Mrs. Louise Jordan attended the first game ever played in Sanford Stadium, and her blood's been running red and black ever since.

You can find her at her assisted living home in Albany, Georgia in her wheelchair, cheering for her favorite football team every Saturday in the Fall.

"I would say it's just as much fun as it was many years ago," says Jordan.

But 88 years ago, she was in a much different seat -- Aisle 2, row 25, seat 24, to be exact.

"It was a ballgame 'between the hedges' between Yale University and the University of Georgia," says Jordan.

In 1929, the 17-year-old UGA freshman witnessed history, for just $3.

"I never will forget it. I'm 105, but I haven't forgotten it. It's very vivid to me as if it was yesterday," says Jordan.

It's the day the Dawgs played their first ever football game inside Sanford Stadium. They came out on top, defeating Yale 15 to 0.

"We beat them like nobody's business," says Jordan.

She's the only Bulldog in her family, and she takes pride in that.

A member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, she majored in history and English, and became a teacher after graduating in 1933.

"I felt very much at home there," says Jordan.

And although she moved away from Athens more than 80 years ago, the Dawg Nation still remembers this very special alum.

When she turned 100, UGA Athletic Director, Greg McGarity sent her a special certificate to recognize her decades of support for the Dawgs, and when she turned 105 last month, she was honored on the jumbotron at a home game between those hallowed hedges.

"I love old Georgia. I always will until I get gone, and I can't be here too much longer. I'm 105," says Jordan.
