(UPDATE 5 p.m.) Sgt. Lawson Bittick with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office has identified the man they are searching for as Charles Red, of Cairo.

The deputy was going to give Reid a warning and make sure he wasn't intoxicated, and that's when the he and two passengers got out of the car and ran away.

The two men that were arrested are Reginald Gurley and Ashley Sorrow.

Deputies found two firearms and over 4 pounds of meth in the vehicle.

Deputies need your help locating a man who got out of his car and ran away during a traffic stop Sunday morning.

A release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says deputies stopped a car on Highway 41 at Hayslips Hardware in Bolingbroke.

The driver and both passengers ran out of the car once it stopped and a deputy was able to arrest two of them, but the driver got away.

He is identified as a black male with a piercing above his right eye, teardrop tattoos under both eyes and a cross tattoo between his eyes.

He was last seen in green joggers, a dark colored shirt and a stocking cap.

The sheriff’s office is instructing people to not attempt contact with the man if they see them and to call 911 instead.

The release says the men were trafficking ‘large amounts of crystal meth and firearms.’
