ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say a 15-year-old Albany boy who shot his sister to death in the family's home will not be charged in the incident.
Greg Blackmon with the Dougherty County District Attorney's office says the shooting of Lejuawlard Lunsford likely will be ruled accidental. Blackmon said Thomas Lunsford, who is mentally disabled, was playing with a rifle Tuesday and shot his sister in the neck.
Blackmon says the rifle had a safety but it wasn't installed properly. He said the parents were at work at the time of the shooting but two other teen relatives were in the house.
Blackmon said the parents also will not be charged. No one else was injured in the shooting.
