A Macon man is dead after being shot in the stomach early Friday morning. That's according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.
This is the fourth homicide in Macon this week.
Jones says 20-year-old Anthony Harris was shot around 1:45 this morning in the back parking lot of the Whiskey River nightclub on Pio Nono Avenue. Jones says Harris was pronounced dead at the Medical Center of Central Georgia at 2:26 a.m.
"There was some sort of altercation between the victim and the suspect on the dance floor and then we learned later that the victim died of a single shot, single gunshot wound, " said Macon Police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet.
Police say the man Harris was fighting with may be the shooter.
"We do know a little bit about the suspect and that's really great thing for us to have some initial information, which isn't always the case," said Gaudet.
According to the release, he was seen leaving the club in a newer model Camry, either silver or gray, with tinted windows and factory wheels. The car turned right out of the back parking lot and headed toward Seven Bridges.
Police describe the man as in his early to mid 20s, no more than 5'6" tall with a stocky build, wearing a black shirt and black baseball cap. The release says he may be named Xavier.
Jones says Harris lived at 890 E Street.

It's the second violent death at the nightclub this year. In January, police said Jeremy Jackson beat Gary Mimbs to death with his fists after an argument inside the club. Jackson was later charged with involuntary manslaughter.
