A 64-year-old Macon was grazed and wounded in the abdomen by a stray bullet that pierced her car's windshield early Saturday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's office.

Carol Morris was wounded while picking up her grandchildren after a concert at the Olympia Family Fun Center, a roller-skating rink at 5020 Mercer University Drive in west Bibb.

Sgt. Sean DeFoe says that as people were leaving the concert and the building was closing just before 12:30 a.m., a group of men standing on a sidewalk fired shots into the air and ran off.

Carol Morris told deputies that after driving away with her grandchildren, one of them noticed she was bleeding from her abdomen.

DeFoe says Morris pulled over and called 911. She was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators say a bullet came down, went through the windshield and grazed Carol Morris.

DeFoe says no one else was injured.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is working to identify the shooters. If you have any information call 478-746-9441.
