Bernadette Graham of Atlanta is looking to find peace, after her brother, Larry Wesley, was killed in broad daylight in February of 2000 on Washington Avenue, nearly 12 years ago. No witnesses have come forward and there was no evidence and it's labelled as a cold case.
Graham said her brother was walking down the street when he was beaten and left for dead. She said doctors told her his head was bashed in with a brick.
"To take another human being life and beat him with a brick, that's very devastating," said Graham.
Larry Wesley died in an Atlanta hospital a few days later, never regaining consciousness.
"I see my brother beaten all up, blood where his lip was busted and his face all swollen and he's on IV," said Graham.
Graham said not being able to hear him say goodbye was devastating.
"All the time I was talking to him even though he couldn't hear me thinking there was hope," said Graham. "Just to see how his bones were curled up, he stayed in a coma, it was just a hurting thing."
Captain Jim Barbee of Macon Police handles the cold cases. He said at the time of the crime there was no DNA evidence and no witness that came forward, even though people were coming out of a church nearby.
"It's frustrating to know there are people out there who may have information about these cases," said Barbee.
Graham said she prays for peace and that will come only from finding her brother's killer.
"Whoever you is and if you still out there, and if you have a conscience and you have a heart I beg you, please turn yourself in," said Graham.
