AMERICUS, Ga. - Senior forward Mike Augustine (Waterloo, Ill.) nailed a big three-point shot to help Georgia College men's basketball (17-8, 10-6 PBC) to a 60-58 overtime win at Georgia Southwestern State University (12-13, 3-13 PBC) Wednesday night.

In a contest that stayed tight throughout, Ryan Aquino (Roswell, Ga.) knocked down a pair of free throws with just under a minute left in overtime for a 57-55 advantage. GSW forward Milos Kleut had a put-back three-point play to steal momentum and the lead at 58-57, setting up Augustine's heroics.

With 16 ticks left and his team down a point, Augustine nailed a long-distance shot from the corner for the two-point lead. A Hurricane three on the other end was rebounded by the Bobcats to seal the win.

Augustine finished with 12 points, including 3-of-4 from downtown. The senior also grabbed 10 rebounds, his first career double-double. Joining him was Aquino, posting a 15-point, 16-rebound double-dip, his 15th of the season.

Senior guard Jared Holmes (Indianapolis) had 11 points to go with six rebounds, while reserve guard Royal Thomas (LaGrange, Ga.) had one of his best efforts in his young career, putting up seven points and three boards in 20 minutes of action.

In a tight, defensive battle, the game was never more than a four-point difference in the first half. GC stretched the advantage out once in the second half to double digits, but only for one possession.

The Bobcats out-shot GSW 39 percent (20-52) to 38 percent (21-56). The Bobcats dominated the glass 46-31 but turned it over an abnormally high 21 times, the most for GC this season.

For the Canes, Kleut led the squad with 17 points off the pine, narrowly missing a double-double by a single rebound. Evan Mobley had 16 points, while Marlon Rivera added 12.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7:30 p.m. traveling to Clayton State University to finish up the regular season.
