Five people were taken to the hospital after a boat accident on Lake Sinclair on Tuesday night, according to a Georgia Department of Natural Resources news release says.
A bass boat hit a pontoon boat a little after 11:30 p.m. in Rooty Creek on Lake Sinclair, says First Class Josh Copelan of DNR Wildlife Resources Division in the news release.
Two people fell off the pontoon boat in the accident. The three people in the bass boat pulled them out of the water into their boat.
They called Putnam County 911 and met an ambulance at a boat ramp.
Five people were treated at the The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, including all four people from the pontoon boat.
Two people in the accident have been released from the hospital, no word on the condition of the other three.
Copelan says it does not appear that alcohol was involved. The incident is under investigation and no charges have been filed.
