A Bonaire man escaped his overturned van after he lost control, and sent the vehicle careening into a gully near a railroad track.
Lt. Sean DeFoe with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened just before 1 p.m. Thursday.
He says 35-year-old Bradley Sudekum was driving a business van owned by GNC stores down Bass Road, between Rivoli Road and Forsyth Road.
Sudekum told deputies he lost control as he approached an overpass above a railroad track while checking his GPS. The van flew over the embankment and flipped, with part of the front bumper on the train track.
DeFoe says Sudekum was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia for treatment and was listed in stable condition. Officers said he was walking and talking when they arrived.
Sudekum was the only person in the car.
