Saturday's scheduled funeral for a Putnam County soldier killed in Afghanistan has been postponed.
That's according to Lydia Ivanditti, aunt of Army Specialist, Erica Alecksen, of the 978th Military Police Brigade.
Alecksen and five other soldiers were killed earlier this week when a roadside bomb struck a tank in Wardak Province.
Ivanditti reports that the Department of Defense was unable to make arrangements to return Alecksen's body to Eatonton in time for Saturday's funeral.
Her family still plans to hold visitation at her grandparents' home on North Madison Street, Eatonton.
