Macon's former mayor C. Jack Ellis and former Jones County commissioner Dale Washburn took part in a debate Tuesday during Eyewitness News at 6 on whether the state should allow casino gambling.
Ellis, who has been a long-time supporter of casino gambling, listed various reasons as to why casinos should be allowed, citing the state-funded lottery as a main example.
Washburn, however, argued that money spent on gambling is money better spent elsewhere, such as supplies and food for the family.
