UPDATE at 9:20 a.m. : Crews with the Macon Water Authority reopened Upper River Road this morning to traffic after repairing a water main break in the area
The crews are putting the finishing touches on the water main, and will have water service restored "soon," according to the Water Authority.

Crews with the Macon Water Authority are working on a water main break just off Upper River Road.
Water in the area is off as of 5 a.m. Monday morning.
Authorities have blocked off a stretch of the northeast Macon road between Redwood Drive and Foster Place.
Local EMA workers are directing traffic.
The MWA says it will take several hours to get the water main repaired.
