Macon police say they have not charged charged a Macon homeowner who shot a man who broke into his home.

But he was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to a police release, Cedric Dean fired at Antron Williams and Leroy Pearl, Jr. after they forced their way into Dean's home at 1295 Birch St. early Wednesday.

Williams was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Dean witnessed Williams and Pearl with Pee' Air Sade' Davison and Tapeka Denise Holt burglarizing the old A.L. Miller Middle School at 751 Hendley St.

They say the suspects then noticed they were being watched by Dean and fled in an SUV.

Williams and Pearl later returned and forced their way into Dean's home, police say. After the shooting, Pearl and Holt fled the scene and picked up Davison in the SUV, returning to Dean's home and calling 911 on their way.

Pearl, Davison and Holt were arrested and charged with burglary.

The homeowner, Dean, was also arrested on two outstanding bench warrants for child support violations. He has not been charged with Williams' death at this time.
