State Senator Cecil Staton is claiming victory in Tuesday's primary election race.
The incumbent edged his opponent, Spencer Price with 10,518 votes to 10,311, a margin of victory of less than a percentage point.
This morning, via text, Staton told 13WMAZ that he's claiming victory.
Price talked to Leah Johnson about his request for a recount.
