Macon Police Release Numbers on Summer Curfew

The Macon police department  instituted a summer curfew aimed at curbing crime during a time when 15-thousand kids were out of school.

Macon police spokesperson Jami Gaudet called it an action plan.  She went on to say they had a goal of reducing the number of teenagers under the age of 17 "hanging out," and wandering the streets of Macon.

The following numbers reflect the arrests and citations given out during May 31, 2012 through August 10, 2012.

Results

Juveniles Under 17
23 citations issued to parents/legal guardians for curfew violations
 3 juveniles arrested and charged with Entering Auto
 2 juveniles listed as runaways in NCIC (National Crime Information Center) were returned home
