A national hotel chain will set up shop in Perry. A Holiday Inn Express & Suites plans to open on Sam Nunn Boulevard. A news release says ground breaking on the new four-story hotel will be "soon."

When it's complete, the hotel will have 82 guestrooms, meeting places, a conference room, a fitness center, pool and Wi-Fi on the property.

In a news release, Glen Starlnecker with the Perry Chamber said, "Perry has needed a new modern hotel for a long time now." Starlnecker used to be with the Holiday Inn Conference Center of Perry. "We hope to have the hotel open by spring of 2013, and truly look forward to accommodating our visitors and local business community".

D&G Hospitality will build the new hotel. According to the release, the company has had experience building more than 50 other hotels.

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites will be located at 1504 Sam Nunn Blvd.
