A man is in jail this morning after officers arrested him for burglary.

According to a release, Macon police responded to a burglar alarm at 765 Walnut Street around 12:30 Wednesday morning, where they found a man claiming to be "Joseph Freeman."

Police spoke to "Freeman" as he sat in front of the building next door to where the alarm went off. He said he did not hear the alarm. "Freeman" was held while officers completed their check of the building and the surrounding area.

While conducting their search, the officers found some broken window glass and an extension cord directly under the broken window, and the back door open.

They took "Freeman" in for questioning and discovered dust from the window ledge on his coat. "Joseph Freeman" was transported to the Bibb County Jail where police discovered he gave them a false name.

Raymond Roger Romback was charged with burglary, false information, criminal trespass, and forgery. This is his first Bibb arrest, and at the time of this release he remains in jail.
