One person died this afternoon in a wreck on Highway 41 South in Monroe County.
Witnesses told 13WMAZ it happened near Mount Zion United Methodist Church near Smarr.
In a news release, Monroe County officials identified the man as Anthony Carlos Burge, 35, of Fort Bragg.
Authorities say Burge's motorcycle struck a Honda Civic attempting to make a left turn near the church. As the Civic attempted to turn left across the railroad tracks, Burge tried to pass a dump truck between him and the Civic.
He was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the Civic, Dayne Scott Sullivan, 23, of Lizella, was transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia with no serious injuries.
Sullivan and Burge were both using turn signals and Burge was wearing a helmet.
No charges are expected, according to the news release, but the investigation continues.
