An Ingram-Pye Elementary School student accidentally hit a teacher with a pencil, according to a Bibb County School District news release.

The pencil struck the teacher's eyelid and caused a "minor injury," the release says.

Emergency Medical Services treated the teacher, who then returned to class.

The teacher told authorities the injury was accidental.
