Answer: We'll take this one at a time.
No. 1: The birth certificate lists "African American" when that term wasn't even used in 1961.@ The certificate lists Obama's father as "African" and his mother as "Caucasian." There's no listing of Obama's race and the phrase "African American" is nowhere on the form.
No. 2: The certificate lists the birthplace of his father as "Kenya, East Africa." But in 1961, the country was known as the British East Africa Protectorate. The country was commonly referred to as Kenya in 1961. Google offers lots of examples.
No. 3: The certificate lists the hospital as "Kapi'olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital," when the hospital wasn't known by that name until after a merger in 1978. Actually, that was the name of the hospital from 1931 to 1971. In addition, the site Snopes.com has a birth certificate from someone born the day after Obama that lists the same name for the hospital.
No. 4: How can Obama's father be 25 years old at the time of the birth AND have served in World War II? He would have been 3 years old. Obama was referring to Stanley Dunham, his grandfather, who served in World War II. Obama lived with his grandparents from age 10 until he went to college. In interviews, Obama has cited his stepfather (Lolo Soetoro) and grandfather as his primary paternal influences.
