If you will be among the estimated 1.7 million people traveling through Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport this weekend, you may need some help navigating the crowds.
Our sister statoin in Atlanta, WXIA has put together three simple tips to help you save time at the airport.
Tip #1: Think "lower levels." When you're driving to the terminal to drop off a passenger, instead of going to the street level, stay to your left and go to the lower level. Many people don't know about this drop-off area, so you'll likely have fewer cars and no lines.
On the south terminal, Delta Air Lines has separate check-in and baggage check kiosks to serve the underground level.
Tip #2: Use north or south security. The main security checkpoint in the center of the airport is usually crowded, so check the north or south security areas on each end. These are the checkpoints that lead to the "T" gates.
The lines are usually shorter at those side checkpoints, but they only stay open until 7pm daily.
Tip #3: Check parking online. Hartsfield-Jackson's website shows up-to-the-minute parking availability for all airport lots.
