MARIETTA, GA (WXIA) - Wheeler High School Senior Morgan Lide died over the weekend while swimming in the ocean in Bali. She was participating in a student exchange program in that region.
Lide was participating in the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange Program, and living with a host family in Indonesia.
School officials said Saturday, she was swimming with a group in Bali, when the group lost sight of her. Lide's body was later found on a beach and could not be resuscitated.
Students at Wheeler were asked to wear blue on Monday in her memory.
