More than a hundred senior citizens from Macon enjoyed a free holiday lunch Thursday. It's all thanks to a long-time community volunteer, Melvin Flowers.

He gathered helpers at the Frank Johnson Center to cook and serve food.

The group also got a magical holiday treat with a performance from Mike Fuller.

Flowers says everything was donated by local groups and organizations who share his love of helping others.

He says, "I just love working with the seniors. This is something I love to do, and I will continue to do this as long as I live. Some of them don't have anything to do around Christmas, and they need our love. I want this thing to be bigger. I want to see 500. That's what I'm going after. If we can get it like that, that would be my dream."

This was Flowers' 10th annual Christmas luncheon. He says around fifty people showed up the first year he started it.
