Severe weather stormed into the Mobile, Alabama area Christmas evening.

The National Weather Service says an apparent tornado was spotted near downtown Mobile.

WALA-TV in Mobile captured video of what looks like a large tornado downing power lines.

The city's fire department tweeted that there are reports of downed power lines and tree limbs, as well as damage at a high school.

Much of the region was under tornado watches and warnings Tuesday evening.
