A woman died after being hit by a car just after midnight in the 3900 block of Pio Nono Ave. in south Macon.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones says that 23-year-old Chastity Johnson was pronounced dead at 12:37 a.m. at the Medical Center of Central Georgia  

Police say Johnson was hit by a 2003 Chevy Tahoe SUV driven by a 22-year-old man.

A police news release says a blood sample was taken from the driver of the Tahoe and the case is under investigation.
