An Emanuel County husband and wife are accused of killing her father and burying him in a makeshift grave in the family cemetery.
Randy Lee Scott, age 36, and 21-year-old Samatha Janes Scott are both charged with murder and concealing a death, according to a news release from the Emanuel County sheriff's office.
They are accused of killing her father, 75-year-old Kenneth Wiley Janes.
Eve Rodgers of the GBI's Eastman office would not say how long Janes has been missing.
She said last Friday, March 8, investigators searched the Scott family cemetery in north Emanuel County and found a makeshift grave
They believe the body found there is Kenneth Janes, but Rodgers says he has not been positively identified.
Rodgers says Samantha Scott has made several withdrawals from her father's bank account since he went missing, totaling several hundred dollars.
In addition to the other charges, she is charged with financial card fraud. Her husband faces two counts of firearms possession by a convicted felon.
Rodgers would not comment on how or when investigators believe Janes was killed.
