A little less than a year ago a Bibb County teen was shot in her home while playing video games with her brother. The bullet came through her window, striking her in the head. Family and friends of Shar'bora Daniels gathered at her grave to release balloons. It was their way to celebrate her birthday.
Last year, the Daniels family celebrated her birthday and her high school graduation on the same day and within a month she was killed.
Each balloon had a personalized message for Shar'bora that family members say they hope she sees on her special day.
"Well, today was her birthday she would have been 19. So we were just coming out to celebrate her birthdday and to let her know that we think about her every holiday and birthday," said Lori Daniels.
"Yes, I just want to say Happy Birthday baby from your momma and I miss you," said Shirley Ponder, Shar'bora's mother. "I love you and I wish you were here with me."
