A Macon police officer who was arrested last week on drug charges in Monroe County has resigned. According to a news release from Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet, Officer Kontrina Toomer submitted a letter of resignation to MPD's Internal Affairs Office.
Toomer was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and reckless conduct for child endangerment after deputies found marijuana, pills, a handgun and around $4,000 in the Forsyth home where she lived.
The Monroe County Sheriff's office also arrested Horace Wise who lived with Toomer. Deputies say Wise is a registered sex offender. Toomer was released on her own recognizance.
