An Irwinton family is looking for your help. Their five-year-old son Antwon has an aggressive form of Sickle Cell Amnemia, and he needs bone marrow.
Nicole Thornton and her family are planning a bone marrow drive on Saturday, July 27th from 11 am to 4 pm at East Wilkinson County Community Park in Irwinton.
Thornton said that Antwon first went to the hospital when he was three months old with swollen his hands. He had his first seizure at 2-years-old.
The bone marrow drive will be Saturday from 11 a.m., to 4 p.m., at East Wilkinson County Community Park in Irwinton.
They will be registering people.
All it takes to register is a swab of a cheek and filling out a consent form.
Thornton said they're especially interested in African-American donors because they are more likely to be a match to Antwon.
