Civilian workers for the Defense Department, including Robins Air Force Base, are likely facing fewer unpaid days off than originally thought.

Officials told The Associated Press that Pentagon leaders are looking to find up to $900 million in savings in the final months of the budget year.

The number of furlough days could be reduced to as few as six, rather than the 11 that had been scheduled.
