Back to school returns to central Georgia... And many teachers and students will hear the school bells ring Thursday.

But for two counties in Central Georgia... There are some key changes to day one for your child.

All students in Wilcox county will report today... Except for Wilcox County Elementary School.

According to a release from the school system... An unusually wet summer has led to a mold problem in one of the wings of the school.

Students in grades 6 to 12 will report to school as usual.

But students at Wilcox County Elementary will report for their first day on August 13th.

In Twiggs County, the superintendent of schools says... Students need to get to the bus stop 15 to 20 minutes earlier.

There is construction on Highway 80 in Jeffersonville... And buses will pick students up earlier.

School start times in Twiggs have not changed... Only bus pickup times.

Bibb County was originally scheduled to return today...but the board recently changed the start date to Monday, August 5th after teachers said they needed more time to prepare for the start of the new school year.
