Two men are dead after an apparent double homicide in Houston County.
The Houston County Sheriff's Office learned that the two were shot and killed at a Chadwick Road house, according to a release.
The sheriff's office believes the two men were shot at the residence and then dropped off at a different location.
After responding to the call at 5 a.m., they found the bodies around 12:30 p.m. Monday in a wooded area near Highway 41/49 and North Houston Lake Road.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting the sheriff's office at that scene. Rodney Wall with the GBI office in Perry says the bodies were found in a remote location of the woods, too far from the road to be seen.
Deputies have one person in custody related to the crime, but the investigators are still pursuing leads in the case.
Neighbors told 13WMAZ several people lived in the house, mostly young men. One neighbor says she has heard gunshots coming from the home several times since the group moved in about a year ago.
Tax records show the house belongs to a woman in Colorado, but 13WMAZ could not reach her for comment.
