Supporters of Sgt. Eric John, a Macon firefighter who was injured while clearing an accident two months ago, spent the day raising money on his behalf.
More than 100 runners and walkers crossed the finish line at the "Call of Duty Above and Beyond Challenge". The 5K took place on Mulberry Street in Macon.

Some participants were given medals in their age category, but they say the event wasn't about winning.
Firefighters from all over central Georgia showed their support, including some who don't know John personally.
"We thought that it was our duty as brothers in the fire service to come out here and support the cause and help raise a little money for him," said David Norman, from Perry.
Levornia Franklin says he's known John for 20 years.
"Get well soon Eric. We want him back on the force so that we can continue to work and serve the community because he's a servant. He's done many years of serving others... it's our time to help serve him," said Franklin.
The fundraiser also included a motorcycle run, a pancake breakfast and barbecue. There were also activities for kids.
