Shooting Death At Macon Motel Ruled Justifiable

A man who was shot to death in Macon at the Scottish Inn, 5022 Romeiser Drive, was attempting to rob another man, police say.

Darius Washington, 19, was shot in the chest at around 4:35 a.m. Monday while attempting to rob Douglas Jackson, according to a Macon police news release.

Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet said Jackson, 34, was justified in shooting Washington.

Washington was with his brother, Paul Washington, 17, during the alleged robbery attempt and police are looking for him, the release stated.
