Houston County sheriff's officials say they arrested a man Sunday for shooting both of his grandparents in the head.
Both grandparents survived.
Joshua Allen Cook, 25, was arrested after authorities responded to a home in the 500 block of Lake Joy Road, according to a sheriff's office news release.
Allen's grandmother, Rosylin Livingston, 67, called Houston County's 911 center around 11 p.m. and said Cook shot her in the head, the news release stated.
Deputies arrived at the home and found her and her husband, 70-year-old Thomas Livingston.
According to the victims' statements to investigators, Cook got angry at his grandmother and shot her in the head with a .22- caliber handgun, the news release stated.
Then he found his grandfather in a bedroom and shot him in the head, the sheriff's office says.
Thomas Livingston overpowered Cook, took his pistol away and restrained him until deputies arrived, the news release stated.
The couple is being treated at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
Cook was also treated and released at the hospital for injuries. He's now at the Houston County Detension Center.
He is being held without bond on two charges of aggravated assault.
