After two years and seven months in Central Georgia, it's time for me to say goodbye.
In the time that I've spent here, I've met some incredible people, like one of the last surviving munchkins from the Wizard of Oz, recovering meth addicts, people who read books to dogs and cats with high school diplomas. I've enjoyed answering your questions over the past year in 13WMAZ's Get Answers segment and bringing you the news from the desk on the weekend evenings.
After growing up and graduating college in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, I had no idea what to expect when I packed my bags and moved to Macon, Georgia, all alone to begin my broadcasting career. But now I can truly say Macon, Georgia was my home and the people at 13WMAZ were my family when mine was so far away. I've grown professionally and personally with help from everyone I've met. This town and this station will have a special place in my heart forever.
Now I need to say where I'm going! I am the new 10 p.m. anchor and producer at WDSI in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Please tune in if you're ever in the area!
Thanks for helping to make my experience in Macon and at 13WMAZ so wonderful. I will take the 'Straight from the Heart' motto with me throughout my career.
