Butler Toyota Named Family Business of the Year

Butler Automotive Group was honored as Georgia's Large Family Business of the Year.

The award was given by the Cox Business Center at Kennesaw State University and Georgia Trend Magazine.

Marshall Butler, Sr. says his family has been in the automobile industry for more than 77 years.  His father Milton Butler started a Chevrolet dealership in Alma, Ga. in 1933.

After selling the business in Alma, Milton and son Marshall purchased the Toyota store in Macon in 1970.

Marshall Butler, Sr. has been running the business with his children Marshall Butler, Jr., Morris Butler, Dixie Butler Clark, and Bonnie Butler Gibson.

The family says they are honored by the award and are blessed to have such a loving family.

"We've had the great opportunity of working with our family. which has been so nice, and I'm really so proud of it.  I'm proud to be a part of my family," Dixie Butler Clark said.

"We have been fortunate that everybody gets along with each other," said Marshall Butler, Sr.

Butler Toyota has expanded their dealership into a franchise with 12 new and used car stores.
