Middle Georgia Fireworks Shows Celebrate the 4th This Weekend

The Middle Georgia area offers many different chances to catch the brightest part of the Fourth of the July - the fireworks.

The holiday weekend includes fireworks in Warner Robins, Wrightsville, Forsyth, Dublin, Telfair County, on Lake Oconee in Green County and Lake Tobesofkee in Bibb County, Dodge County and Eatonton.

Friday

 

You can kick off your weekend with country group Diamond Rio in Warner Robins. The concert begins at 8 at McConnell-Talbert Stadium with fireworks to follow. This event is free of charge.

If you are closer to Johnson County on Friday night, stop by the Johnson County Recreation Department in Wrightsville. Fireworks will begin around dusk or dark.

 

Saturday

 

On Saturday night, the city of Forsyth will have a show at the Monroe County Recreation Complex. Vendors will have food and moonwalks will provide free entertainment for kids.

 

For those of you in the Dublin area, the location of your fireworks has changed this year. Southern Pines Regional Park will light up the sky around 9. The country band Deepstep will play before and after the show, free of charge.

 

In Telfair County, enjoy an afternoon of arts and crafts at 3 p.m. followed by fireworks at dark. The event will be held at the Telfair County Recreation Complex.

 

The Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee in Greene County is having a special concert by the Augusta Symphony Orchestra. The cost is $35 for reserved seats and $20 for lawn seats. Kids are $10 per ticket. It also costs $25 to park on the property. The fireworks show will be in conjunction with the concert.

Sunday

 

In Bibb County, Lake Tobesofkee will kick off its fireworks event at Sandy Beach on Sunday at 9:30. It does cost $5 a person to enter Sandy beach, and $3 a person at Claystone. The band Loose Skrews plays at 6. If you drive in after 6, there will be a $10 charge per car.

 

Sunday night in Dodge County there is a flag-raising ceremony and the national anthem will be played before fireworks. The free event begins at 8:45 at Dodge County Middle School.

 

To watch fireworks over Lake Blackshear, visit Veterans State Park on Sunday at 9 p.m. The cost is $10 a car to get in.

 

Crooked Creek Marina in Eatonton will have an all-day celebration starting with food and bands at 1 p.m. Hang around for the free fireworks over Lake Sinclair.
