SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Firefighters in coastal Georgia spent the night extinguishing flare ups inside a Georgia Ports Authority warehouse that was the scene of a massive blaze this weekend.
Savannah Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Mark Keller says firefighters worked to prevent flare ups from developing into larger fires inside the damaged 226,000 square-foot warehouse. A fire was reported at the building late Saturday morning.
Port officials have said no injuries were reported and no one was in the warehouse when the fire started. The cause of the blaze is unclear and Keller says investigators haven't been able to enter the building yet.
Keller says although air conditions are improving near the warehouse, officials are still urging people to limit outdoor activities nearby to avoid exposure to lingering smoke.
