Could swearing make you stronger?

LONDON - Could strong language help to build physical strength?

British researchers conducted a small study, looking at the effects of swearing during exercise. Researchers found when people cursed out loud before riding a stationary bike, they went on to produce more power than another group who shouted out neutral words. A second test found people who swore also displayed a stronger performance on hand-grip tests.

Researchers aren't certain why there's a link between profanity and strength. However, researchers tell The Guardian that people seem to instinctively swear when they're looking for a boost, or when they get hurt.
