Hawkinsville pastor gets 30 years for statutory rape

Terrance Lamont King, 34, was convicted by a jury Thursday of statutory rape, child molestation, and enticing a child. The pastor of a small church in Hawkinsville, King was sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to a news release from the Houston County District Attorney's Office.

In November 2012, when the victim was 15, King picked her up before school one morning and drove her to a hotel in Perry. The victim told her mother what happened after her mother, several weeks later, discovered an inappropriate chat between the two on Facebook.

The victim and her family were lifelong members of the church, the news release stated.
