A woman was shot Monday after someone dropped a gun and it accidentally went off.
The shooting occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Monday outside of the L.H. Williams School's gym at 325 Pursley St. in Macon.
The 20-year-old victim said she heard a popping noise and when she looked down at her hands, she noticed they were bleeding. The bullet grazed her arms, according to a sheriff's office news release. Investigators said an "unidentified male" dropped the gun and it was discharged, the news release states.
A friend drove the victim to Medical Center, Navicent Health where she was treated for her injuries.
